What’s the best way to celebrate 25 years of life in the video game industry? You guessed it. After previously being announced in a press conference, Capcom has followed up with details on this manga fighter heading to digital download.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has seen the flickering lights of the arcade and dingy basements on the Sega Dreamcast. Now, the game has finally reached the epitome of nostalgia by releasing on the Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network this coming August.
The game follows hopeful hero Jotaro Kujo and the rest of the Joestar Family. There have been many tangents from the anime and its main storyline and over the years the games have followed with similar tactics, sometimes telling the other side of the story–sometimes not releasing at all.
The game features super moves, which are similar to what you would find in the latter Street Fighter titles and most notably the Marvel VS Capcom series. These ghastly supernatural powers known as Stands can be used to couple those combos with and literally steam roll your opponents.
The game does however release at quite the high price. Even the previous games in the series, which can be found on eBay and other selling sites, run for about half the price. I don’t know if I could see myself shelling out the points or green to justify the HD upgrade, but I sure wouldn’t mind droppin’ them to a stranger on the web for a retro copy. Even so, these screens are every bit of pixel perfect.
If you are unfamiliar with the series, then check out this video below of some of the previously non-HD introduced combos and gameplay:
