Quick, to the eShop! Johnny and Kirby Hit the Switch! Force for Hope and Pinball

Beat’em up action returns to the Nintendo eShop, but this time in the form of a Kung Fu hero, some pinballs, mixed with a little bit of RPG.

Johnny Kung Fu

Johnny Kung Fu is a beat’em action/mini-game mashup. Save your girlfriend Paula from the clenches of the Mr. Wang, a notorious group of thugs who is aiming to put a damper on your day. The game hosts leaderboards and a slew of challenges that await your skills. The game itself pays homage to Game and Watch titles of the past. Don’t take my word for it; just take my word for it. Check out the official GAMINGtruth review here. Johnny Kung Fu releases today with a price point of US $5.99.

Kirby’s Pinball Land

Continuing the Nintendo promotion of the 8-bit Summer, we see yet another retro title come to fruition on the Nintendo 3DS screen. Kirby’s Pinball Land originally released in 1993. The game features a pinball adventure through some common Kirby territory. There are enemies to destroy and skilled pinball moves to deploy. And you guessed it, that dastardly tree is back. The game bumpers in for US $3.99.

The Sword of Hope II

The plane of role playing games has changed tremendously over the years. Even so, the main elements to these games haven’t strayed too far from the traditional path of looting and slaying. Originally released in 1996 on the Gameboy, The Sword of Hope II brings back fond memories of role playing on a dot-matrix screen.

The Mighty Switch Force!

Now if that didn’t bring Excitement+21, then maybe this weekend deal will make you squeal. The Mighty Switch Force! recently added a few new levels and a patch a few months back. Now, the game has reached a temporary price cut for this weekend. From 9:00 PST this Friday, July 13, through 9:00PM PST Sunday, July 15, you can pick up the title for a whopping US $2.99. The game received great praises and comes from veteran developer WayForward.

Other honorable mentions include Sweet Memories: Black Jack (eShop), Candle Route (eShop/ DSiWare) Ace Mathician (eShop/DSiWare) Frogger: Hyper Arcade Edition (WiiWare), THE KING OF FIGHTERS ’96 (Wii Virtual Console).

Quick, to the eShop! is your one stop shop for the weekly rundown of Nintendo downloadable titles.
