Quick, to the eShop! Can Heroes Ruin this Golf and Tennis Tournament for Zelda?
The fireworks from yesterday are done lighting up the night sky. If you are like me and your ‘3DS is no less than an arm’s length away and will continue to light up your day. With Nintendo’s promotion for the 8-bit Summer releasing classic Nintendo titles, be sure to also have your charger close by as well.
To kick off the promotion for the 8-bit Summer series, The Legend of Zelda and NES Open Tournament Golf tee off in the eshop. Both games originally released on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in the 80’s and are still alive and kicking. To some, that might not seem like a big deal, but it is amazing to think about a video game outliving some of the people that were originally around to create it. You can pick these two classics up for US 4.99 individually.
Bringing things back into the realm of modernism, we see the release for the Heroes of Ruin demo. The game has already received a slew of praises on graphics alone, but don’t take my word for it. The demo will finally bring players a hands-on experience that only E3 attendees were previously able to get. This top down adventure title definitely looks like a must own for handheld owners.
To stay in line with the sports theme, Family Tennis 3D will be hitting the eShop. The game has eight characters and a variety of courts. If you didn’t want to pay the big bucks for the Mario Tennis Open title, then you can easily grab this one for US $6.99.
Nintendo has also been offering up deals to hit the weekend with. The latest Game of the Weekend deal is for Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword. The game features a dueling sword system, which is great for me because as I am a sucker for fighting games. Slice your way to the top ranks while learning the way of the sword. After all, the game is only US 4.99 which is a perfect pick and play title for those dull summer days.
Other honorable mentions include Akari by Nikoli (eShop), Topoloco (eShop/DSiWare), 3, 2, 1… WordsUp! (eShop/DSiWare), Let’s Create! Pottery (WiiWare) and 2020 SUPER BASEBALL (Virtual Console).
