Marvel vs. Capcom Origins Heads to Consoles
Capcom announced earlier today that it plans on bringing two super-powered retro ’90s arcade games, Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, together in one package as Marvel vs. Capcom Origins to the Xbox 360, on Xbox LIVE Arcade, and PlayStation 3, on PSN, this September.
Released back in 1995, Marvel Super Heroes was one of the first forays into Marvel fighting games made by Capcom. It precedes its more famous sibling, Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, by three years, but made a pretty big impact when it hit arcades at the time. I have some fond feelings for this particular title being that it was the first of Capcom’s line of Marvel fighters that I ever played back in the day. Blackheart forever!
The game set the stage for Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, which really put the series in the spotlight with multiple releases, first in the arcade and then to home consoles.
Marvel vs. Capcom Origins features an HD graphical upgrade, eight-player lobbies, a spectator mode, saveable replays and dynamic challenges. The pack will be available to download for $14.99 (1200 MS Points)
