Microsoft to Skip Tokyo Game Show and Gamescom

Now that E3 is over it’s time to start looking forward to the upcoming events like the Tokyo Game Show and Gamescom. Too bad Microsoft has decided it has better things to do. After asking Microsoft, it was confirmed that this is in fact the official response:
“As you saw at E3, we have a solid line-up of games launching this holiday, along with other entertainment experiences. We’ve changed our approach a little, though. This year, Xbox will be focusing on smaller, more localized promotions and experiences for press, partners, retailers and customers around the world. Which means that as you might have seen on some of the news sites today, we won’t be taking part in gamescom orTokyo Games Show this year.
Both are still important shows for the industry, and we do wish the organizers well.”
I’m started to get the feeling from this, and the recent E3 parade of sequels, that Microsoft is getting ready for a big new console push next year. I can’t be the only person thinking this.
