E3: Splinter Cell: Blacklist Reveal Trailer

Ubisoft appears to be unloading all of its Tom Clancy licensed games within a 12-month window. We just received Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Rainbow Six will return early 2013 and now Sam Fisher will come back in the spring of 2013. The game was revealed earlier today.

You may take notice, if you’re a die hard Splinter Cell fan (such as myself), that the original voice of Sam Fisher is not the same. The reason behind this is because Ubisoft wanted to capture Sam’s fluid, stealthy movements. To get the perfect performance, Ubisoft needed a nimble actor who can perform as well as voice Fisher. With Michael Ironside hitting 62, he was unable to perform the stunts and actions need for the motion cap. Instead Eric Johnson will take the reigns of the iconic character made famous by Mr. Ironside.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist will make use of the Microsoft Kinect for voice recognition commands. Players will be given the ability to yell at foes to distract them or call in for help or air strikes to aid you in a heated battle. Splinter Cell: Blacklist will hit shelves in the spring of 2013.
