Next Gears Title is Gears of War Judgment, Involves Bulletstorm Developer
Gaming magazine Game Informer revealed today that the next Gears of War game will be titled Gears of War Judgment. Yesterday, we posted the reveal as well as speculated what the game may be about. Now, I felt that the silhouetted figure on the magazine cover would turn out to be Marcus Fenix, who, as GoW fans know, was arrested before the events of the original game.
Surprisingly enough, behind the dark veil was none other than Damon Baird, everyone’s favorite whiny engineer. An alternate cover features Augustus “Cole Traine” Cole, former pro thrashball player and conveyor of “Woo!”s. Both characters are wearing their classic COG gear, and both cover versions are adorned by ravaging Locust soldiers. With this in mind, we can still speculate that Judgment will take place somewhere either before, or during, the events of the franchise leading up to Gears of War 3.
We have also learned that Bulletstorm developer People Can Fly has a part in the development. Epic Games President Mike Capps tweeted “YES YES YES!” in answer to a question on whether the studio was involved in the project.

All this new information seems to create more questions than it answers. Will the game feature both Cole and Baird as the main, playable, characters? Why were they arrested?
We’re also not entirely sure how big of a role People Can Fly are playing in the development, but all answers to our burning questions should be answered during the official unveiling of the game during the Microsoft E3 press conference Monday morning.
