Twenty Five years is a pretty impressive milestone for something to still be relevant in a world where the only for sure thing is constant change. When something lasts and reaches this silver year of life–it is a time for celebration. In the gaming world that typically means a huge collector’s set for fans to own. This is no different for the Street Fighter franchise. Capcom’s staple fighting game has reached 25 years and all stops have been pulled out for a mighty Anniversary set.
Dropping on September the 18th, the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collectors Set is massive and contains plenty of merchandise from the legendary series. The crowning jewel of the set seems to be the eight inch tall lighted Ryu statue, which is going to look pretty damn cool on someone’s desk or entertainment center. Also, the set includes a martial art’s black belt with Ryu’s “Furinkazan” in kanji. If neither of those tempts you enough, a 64 page hardcover art book is also included.
There is plenty of media packed into the set, which has games, movies and music. There are four games are included within the collectors set: Street Fighter X Tekken (including all character and Swap Costume DLC), Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition (with all costume DLC), Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, and Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition.
A ton of video content is thrown in including a brand new documentary highlighting the Street Fighter fandom and its sheer amount of dedication (on a Blu-ray disc). Also included are three movies (Street Fighter IV, Super SFIV, and Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie) and all episodes of the Street Fighter animated series.
To round off an already impressive set, there is an 11 (yes, 11) disc soundtrack and a Certificate of Authenticity. The set will be $149.00 for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It is already available for preorder.
