Ubisoft Details Far Cry 3 Multiplayer Beta

For two weeks during the summer Ubisoft will open up a multiplayer beta for the upcoming Far Cry 3 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the company announced yesterday.

Up to 16 players will be able to choose from one of six classes and shoot their way through tropical maps and multiple game modes. The beta will give players access to the game’s weapon upgrades and customizations.

This is an invitation only beta, and keys will only be handed out in three ways: one way is by buying Ghost Recon: Future Soldier at GameStop when the game ships on May 22. Another way to get in is by entering the Far Cry Facebook contest located here. The third option will be through websites such as Ubi.com, farcrygame.com, and other social partner sites.

But if you feel that you can wait for the game without trying to leap through hoops then no worries because Far Cry 3 is set to ship on Sept. 4, 2012. Either way, shooter fans will soon be able to once again rumble through the jungle. Most likely with guns and exploding items.
