Spec Ops: The Line Drops a Demo
It’s no multiplayer demo–but hey–it’s better than nothing. Spec Ops: The Line has been toying with release dates for a couple of years now. It has been pushed back, delayed and finally setting to release this summer. With that promise of release we also see a demo finally hitting the Xbox LIVE Arcade.
“The single-player narrative unfolds within Dubai after a series of cataclysmic sandstorms cut the city off from the rest of the world.”
A few weeks back we saw a nice multiplayer trailer hinting at what we can expect in the close quarter combat. The same kind of up close brutality from the campaign will translate over to the multiplayer and drive that human aspect to confrontations with your opponents.
The demo will drop players into the role of Captain Martin Walker who is in the hunt for Colonel John Konrad. He must locate the missing Colonel and his squad, The Damned 33rd. This was similar to what we saw at E3 2010 when we first caught wind of the title, two years later and it finally is poking its head out of the sand. The scenes look pretty close to the atmosphere and settings that we saw early on–but with a lot more polish to them.
The demo comes in at 1.45GB’s on the Xbox LIVE Arcade. The Spec Ops: The Line is slated to release on June 26th, 2012. Demo impressions to follow.
