Papo & Yo Developer Diary Numero Uno
In this developer diary we see Vander Cabellero discussing his upcoming puzzler/adventure title Papo & Yo. At last year’s E3, we spent a little bit of time playing the title at the PlayStation camp. The endearing simplicity of the game came together neatly and did more than showcase the inner workings of its developer, Vander.
“If you’ve been following Papo & Yo‘s development, you know that the game was inspired by my childhood in South America and my relationship with my father. But I don’t want that to be the only thing that people see when they get to play the game. Papo & Yo is also about a child’s imagination, and experiencing “fantastic realities” – transforming the real world into a special world that can both help and challenge you.“–Vander Cabellero from the PlayStation Blog.
It’s interesting to have spent some hands-on time with a title almost a year ago, and then see what it has become now. If you take a look at the images from the prior post you’ll see that the face of the monster has changed to deliver a more menacing look. There are also smaller polished areas of the map and quite a bit more detail in the characters in general. If you haven’t heard much about Papo & Yo–take the time to intertwine with this developer diary.
Make sure to keep checking back with the PlayStation Blog and Vander’s posts for updates on the title. We will also bring you more hands-on straight out of E3 2012.
