Elder Scrolls Online Confirmed for 2013
For many years now an online Elder Scrolls title has been the subject of speculation and anticipation by the franchise’s many fans. Some have argued that the series has needed a multiplayer version of the popular open-world adventure, while others have maintained the belief that the lone hero’s journey is the way to go.
But whatever belief you may have held, an online version of Elder Scrolls has been a hot topic long enough for Bethesda to actually give it a shot.
Game Informer has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls Online has been in development, and will be released for PC and Mac in 2013. The company’s June issue will include breaking information on the game.
“It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years,” game director and MMO veteran Matt Firor told Game Informer. “The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”
Developed by Zenimax Online Studios, the game will be set a millenium before the events of Skyrim, pitting gamers against the daedric prince Molag Bal who is using his evil influence to destroy Tamriel.
