Steel Battalion Heavy Armor shows off pre-order goodies
So, exactly is your job in Steel Battalion? Jump right into the seat of the Vertical Tank (VT) and get ready to mow down some enemies. The main chracter, Sgt. Powers, is the pilot of this computer gutted ass kicker on wheels. The pre-order bonuses offered through Amazon; Best Buy and GameStop will add variations in your VT’s outfit. This isn’t just a cosmetic upgrade. The variations in tanks also play a large role in the defensive and offensive roles.
It was exciting to finally see a game incorporate Kinect controls–not just by using voice commands. When I originally envisioned the Kinect sensor before its release, it was something along the lines of cohabitation rather than picking and choosing play styles. Steel Battalion Heavy Armor is a futuristic first person experience that guides players through both traditional controller schemes and motion controls.
“We are thrilled to once again work with our partners at Capcom and From Software to develop exclusive, innovative titles,” said Matt Barlow, General Manager, Interactive Entertainment Business Marketing for Microsoft. “It’s exciting to see publishers evolve renowned franchises like ‘Steel Battalion’ with Kinect to create gameplay that you can only experience on Xbox 360.”
*Steel Battalion Heavy Armor is slated to release June 19, 2012. Here is the line up of pre-order packages based on retailer.
