Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 Sees the light at the end of the scope
Just a few days ago I was looking through our E3 2011 coverage. Games like Skyrim were all the buzz and Star Wars: The Old Republic was nothing more than a CG trailer. There were quite a few blockbuster titles lined up and ready to ship out, but E3 is more than just three or four big name companies. Besides the overwhelming glitzy show floor, there were plenty of other small rooms to check out. City Interactive and its second installment in the Sniper Ghost Warrior series was one stop I’m glad I took.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 was tucked away in a small meeting room and showed off a little bit of the game pumping on the cryENGINE3. Even in its early build, the game was looking like it was coming along just nicely. There were a few in-game blemishes and art that hadn’t been finalized, but the general idea of the game was starting to spark and fall into place.
The game now has a launch date and should be in line with our previous hints at a Nintendo Wii U possbility. The game is now slated for release on August 21, 2012, just a few months shy of a possible Nintendo 2012 Holiday launch. So far the title has only been confirmed for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC–but one can still be optimistic.
