Resistance: Burning Skies Multiplayer Details and Trailer Emerge
Nihilistic Software is taking Insomniac’s first-person alien killing simulator on the road. Resistance: Burning Skies is will bring all the action of its console game cousins exclusively for the Vita. And we got the goods on the multiplayer.
Up to eight players will be able to link up to the multiplayer component via Wi-Fi. There will be three modes available including Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch across six maps based on the single player campaign.
The game includes a matchmaking system which will allow players to join games quickly. Teams games are either broken up as 2×2 or 4v4 matches. Private matches for you you and your PSN buddies are also available through the Party feature which supports voice chat functionality via built in microphone or Bluetooth headset.
Burning Skies supports customizable loadouts from primary weapons to secondary fire. Players will be able to progress as they play, unlocking new upgrades and gear.
The game also supports NEAR, the Vita’s location based service. Through the service players can give their squadmates a boost before starting games by either infecting them with the Chimera Virus, or, on the other side, rally Resistance members with the Human Spirit (aww). These boosts will award players with XP multipliers during battle.
