SEGA North America Hit by Massive Layoffs as Restructure Begins

This morning SEGA announced that the company will be heavily restructuring after suffering huge losses. And with company restructures come the layoffs.

IGN was recently told that the QA department at SEGA America is all but shut down, leaving the efforts to SEGA Europe. Other layoffs include positions in marketing and development. If we were to predict SEGA’s next move, we may soon see SEGA Europe in London as the company’s only presence outside Japan.

We wish the best of luck to those affected by the layoffs. More on SEGA’s restructuring as it develops.

  1. This breaks my heart. SEGA was an awesome console developer and game developer. If they die, I think video games are going to suffer because of that.
