SEGA Confirms Jet Set Radio Release Frame and Goodies
Throw on your favorite pair of graffiti skates and get ready to spray. Join DJ Professor K, Beat and Gum in this HD remake. Thanks to the SEGA Blog, we can now rest easy as we can expect to see the title release on the PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE Arcade and PC. Fans will only have to wait until this summer to download the nostalgic return, but hey—what’s a few more months for something most people have been begging years for?
The confirmation of the title comes after a not so mysterious video showcasing the Jet Set Radio emblem with the title “Guess Who’s Back?” Fans went nothing more than banana’s at the return of one of the most iconic titles on the Dreamcast. This was particularly exciting as many fans, including the slightly crazed retro purchasing editor’s at GAMINGtruth, play their Dreamcast’s often and can’t wait to lay their hands on an upgraded version of the original.
Something else for you creative sprayers out there, SEGA has also announced a contest for you to win an Etón Rukus Solar – Portable Blue Tooth Sound System, copies of the game, and a bundle of sweet swag. For the full details on the contest check out the official announcement here.
“If you’re unfamiliar with the story, Jet Set Radio lets players join the GGs, an up-and-coming street gang in the futuristic city of Tokyo-to, fighting for the right to self-expression against an overbearing, corporate-controlled police force. Rolling and leaping through crowded urban environments on magnetically driven inline skates, players take control of gang leader Beat and his growing posse of deviant artists as they steal turf from the local gangs by covering the city with colorful graffiti. Guided by Professor K, DJ for the hottest pirate broadcast in town – “Jet Set Radio” – the GGs will ultimately uncover the sinister plot hatched by the controlling powers of Tokyo-to.”
