Shank 2 Preview

Last year small developer Klei Entertainment released Shank, a 2-D action brawler beat-em-up that paid homage to some of the great “fist to face” games of the retro generation. The game boasted a colorful comic style art and brutal gameplay.

Shank 2 is set to be released tomorrow, Feb. 7, 2012. Expect to see that same level of violence and utter disregard to life which personifies the series’ hero, Shank, an ex-mob hitman with a short blade and a short temper.

The game comes with an online co-op mode, revamped fighting and even more deadly weapons.

“What we did was rip the game apart and reconstruct it to allow us to have more responsive controls and better graphics,” said Klei Entertainment founder Jamie Cheng. “We tore our combat system apart… and created new controls to be able to use the enemies’ weapons against themselves.”
