Fans Select a Raven for NFL Blitz Cover
If you had no idea that there was a new NFL Blitz game in the works, get ready to lay down the late hits on your current HD console of choice.
It might come as a surprise to you that there is even an athlete featured on the cover of a digital only title, but thanks to SPIKE TV and the VGA’s–we’ve got a new freight train on the cover pane. Ray Rice, RB for the Baltimore Ravens, beat out two of the league’s most notable players, Roddy White WR for the Atlanta Falcons and Patrick Willis LB for the San Francisco 49ers. Rice beat out these two in the online vote and now has the opportunity to grace the digital cover of NFL Blitz.
The latest development of Blitz’ promises to bring all of the late hits, trash talking and misfit attitudes of the 90’s version of the game. This time, all of that goodness promises to be pumping at 60 FPS and in true HD. The game is also being developed by EA Tiburon, the same studio that has been responsible for the most recent Madden titles.
NFL Blitz has a lot more going for it than just disguising a 90’s game in HD. The 7-on-7 lineup is still available, but there are a few new online features to take into account. Players can venture through the Blitz Gauntlet, Blitz Battles, and post their scores to the online leader boards. Think that it might not be as fun without all your favorite players involved? Collect player cards in the Elite League in order to gather all of your eggs in one basket. Can you say, “Better than Fantasy League?”
