Netherrealm Wants to Take a Break from Mortal Kombat
Not long after Mortal Kombat won “Best Fighting Game” in a flurry of awards at the Spike TV VGAs, before it went onto something actually interesting like girls eating cupcakes, Netherrealm Studios announced its future plans.
Plans, the Ed Boon revealed, that didn’t include a return to the popular fighting franchise. According to GameSpot, Boon said the company will focus on new project. It was also reported that Netherrealm doesn’t plan on releasing anymore DLC content for Mortal Kombat as well.
The franchise has been around since 1992, so don’t think for a second that this is the last we have heard of Mortal Kombat.
