Shadow of the Colossus Director Leaves Sony?
Sources within Sony have told Eurogamer that Fumito Ueda, creator of Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian, has left Sony.
The sources have said Ueda plans to finish The Last Guardian as his final game for Sony as a freelancer before moving on to new projects.
The often-delayed The Last Guardian has been in development since 2005. Recently, the game’s release date of 2011 was retracted and an unspecified date in 2012. Eurogamer was told the the game’s recent development issues have stemmed from Ueda’s abrupt departure.
Just to note, there’s no reason to panic over this news. Sooner or later (hoping sooner) The Last Guardian will be released and we can enjoy living the joyous life of a 10-year old and his cat-dragon monster. The news has also been labeled as a possible rumor, as Sony has yet to confirm or deny Ueda’s departure. More on this as it develops.
