Bethesda Presents Skyrim: From Concept to Reality

And from the first moments on the project, it was obvious that Skyrim would require not just a unique spin on fantasy, but on The Elder Scrolls series as a whole.

The Bethesda blog recently interviewed two Skyrim concept artists Ray Lederer and Adam Adamowicz. The artists discussed what it was like creating the concept for Bethesda’s biggest game yet. They talk about the medieval genre from which The Elder Scrolls has drawn heavily from. And how the two created a unique identity for Skyrim by fusing the genre with the franchise’s cultures.

Hit the link below and read the revealing interview. There is also a podcast to listen to and tons of amazing concept art. Plus the article includes a trailer showing concept art and the resulting environment created by the level designers. It’s a great read for those who can’t get enough of the game and want to know how the look for Skyrim was created.
