Dead Or Alive 5 Pre-Alpha Footage
The short but sweet pre-alpha footage of Dead or Alive 5 featured at this year’s Tokyo Game Show (TGS 2011) shows off the game’s remastered graphics and awesome ass-kicking action. Ryu Hayabusa and Hayate square off in a battle of epic proportions, fighting to the death in an arcade-style tournament.
Ryu Hayabusa is all over the place with mad ninja skills, zapping through the air and delivering his signature special attacks. Hayate counters and delivers even more impressive and dynamic acrobatic attacks, showing off the title’s fluid grace and extraordinary character animations. DoA 5 truly makes fighting games into an art form.
Dead or Alive 5 seems to keep the overall style and authentic action that dates all the way back to the first release in 1995 for PlayStation.
Environmental hazards are still in play, giving players that extra bit of damage that can be crucial to victory when the matches get close…but in DoA 5 the hazards are extra dangerous as the entire stage seems to be destructible. This brings an interesting and unique element to the game that has been a signature element found in all of the Dead or Alive titles throughout the franchise.
Dead or Alive 5 will be published by Tecmo Koei and developed by Team Ninja and will see a release sometime in 2012 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
