New ‘Inversion’ Trailer Puts the 3G’s in Gravy
And you thought this was going to have something to do with chicken, turkey, or biscuits. While those are three things that you might add gravy to, there is something else that shares the letter ‘G’that allows for a smothering of goodness. How does an upcoming cover shooter titled Inversion share the letter ‘G’? Well, one of which is the use of gravity, or the lack thereof it.
A few months ago, I was allowed some hands on time with the mutliplayer for Inversion, thanks to Namco-Bandai. This allowed me to get to know the title a little bit better and take on a few of the games inverted anti-gravity-third-person-shooter multiplayer modes. It was great seeing how the game was shaping up, but more importantly, how the developers were going to separate themselves from other cover based shooters with striking similarities. This is where the gravity mechanic comes into play.
The newest trailer, showing off Namco-Bandai’s creation, gives us two other elements to the equation. These just happen to be our other two G’s, which by watching the trailer, or continuing on in reading this, will tell you that these are guns and grenades. We also see quite a bit of destruction going on with the environment, which was present in our hands-on preview.
The game is slated to release February 7, 2012, but we are already seeing some prime improvements in this gameplay vid. One of which is the wall-to-wall inverted moments that will hopefully make it into the final product. If it does, I’ll be happier than a passenger on a gravy train ridin’ biscuit wheels! Yeehaw!
