HEX: The Calling Coming Soon to PC
UK native Indie dev studio 24ct Penguin plans to bring terror to the PC in the form of their debut title, an adventure RPG lamented HEX: The Calling. The upcoming title has a loose and tentative release date of Winter 2011 or early 2012, yet this may change in the future.
The upcoming horror-infused Indie mashup will feature a robust story arc replete with influences from Celtic mythology and Gypsy folklore, and tells the tale of a young girl as she makes her journey to discover the truth behind her mysterious and secretive past.
HEX: The Calling will also feature classic retro 16-bit visuals to deliver a nostalgic feel all while keeping the signature creepy atmosphere associated with the horror genre.
- Compelling storyline built upon traditional myths and folklore from Celtic and Gypsy peoples
- Role-play adventure and puzzle-based gameplay
- Unnerving and absorbing atmosphere
- Unique Hex battle system to create added depth and flexibility to battles
- Multiple endings
“We’re bringing together a rich tapestry of folklore from two very distinct cultures to create a solid foundation on which to build Amelia’s tale of loss and discovery,” said Ray Smith, Creative Director at 24ct Penguin Games. “Add to that the eerie atmosphere and engaging gameplay, and HEX: The Calling will provide indie gamers with a compelling and chilling experience this Winter.”
HEX: The Calling will be available Winter 2011/early 2012 on PC via digital download. For more information please visit the official website.
