E3 2011: Minecraft Coming to Xbox 360
Minecraft is coming to the Xbox 360. That’s right, the PC indie hit where players are let loose upon a world to craft anything and everything is coming to Microsoft’s system, and only Microsoft’s.
It was also revealed that the game will support Kinect.
I have yet to play Minecraft, but this may finally get me to. It will, however, be interesting to see how it will be supported with updates. The PC title get’s them quite often, but titles that flourish with content updates on PC usually don’t do so hot on the 360 (Team Fortress 2 for example).
Will the ultimate block-builder who ignited the genre for millions spell doom for the ever-successful FortressCraft title that was, until now, the only Minecraft-like block-builder available on the Xbox 360 as an Xbox Live Indie title? I think so, because everyone who had loved FortressCraft was most likely a Minecraft fan. Why play FC when you can play the original?
