Akane The Kunoichi looks to be an awesome upcoming Xbox Indie with a signature 2-D side-scrolling platformer elements and oustanding animation quality.
Created by the independent XNA studio Haruneko, Akane The Kunoichi reflects the classic style of platformers in the vein of titles like Shinobi and Ninja Gaiden all while preserving impressive visuals and enjoyable gameplay.
Below is the description from Haruneko’s official trailer of the upcoming XBLIG title:

One day Goro is kidnapped by the evil Hiromi and her minions — you have to rescue him, but it won’t be an easy task!
Many enemies will try to stop you, and you’ll have to be brave to fight against the evil ninjas and huge monsters loyal to Hiromi.
– Easy to pick-up and play but difficult to fully master
– Ultra-smooth action at 60 fps
– 3 secret ninja techniques
– 5 different environments
– 5 huge bosses
– 15 stages
– 45 hidden Charming Lost Kimonos to catch!!!”
This upcoming title looks charming and alluring on many levels, and is sure to be a great Xbox Indie addition to the marketplace. The game has currently been entered in the Peer Review process which comes before release, and it is now up to the XNA Community itself to pass the game.
Highly recommended to platformer fans and gamers who enjoy side-scrollers in the vein of early gaming classics originally released for consoles like NES and SNES.
