Sony Issues Statement Over 3.61 Firmware Overheating

Well that didn’t last long. Earlier we reported that Rockstar was suggesting the recent 3.61 firmware update for the PlayStation 3 was causing consoles to overheat while playing games. Sony has released a statement suggesting otherwise:

“We have received a very small number of customer support questions about PS3s overheating or shutting down while playing L.A. Noire. At this time, Rockstar Games and Sony can confirm that neither L.A. Noire or firmware update 3.61 are causing the PS3 hardware to overheat. We are both committed to working hard to find solutions to this and any issues that may arise. If you are experiencing any issues with L.A. Noire or your PS3 hardware, please contact technical support using any of the means provided below:”

There you have it. Both Sony and Rockstar say the firmware update is just plain dandy.

Agree? Disagree? Did your PS3 overheat after the update? Mention it in our comment section below:

Mine is overheating after playing elder scrolls vs. Skyrim after several hours, and it did an update with this game.  Funny I could play Batman Arkham city for same time with no issues??
