PSN Welcomes You Back
In the Book of Job, God tested the eponymous worshipper by killing his whole family and making him super sick, all to win a bet against Satan. Job remained faithful, and God won the bet.
I’m kind of hazy on how the story ended, I think Job won several fabulous prizes.
Similarly, Sony wants to thank its customers for tolerating the extended PlayStation Network outage, and subsequent data loss, by giving them some free stuff.
The “Welcome Back” initiative is Sony’s plan to give two free games to PlayStation 3 and PSP owners. The offers will go live when complete functionality is restored to the network, sometime in the near future.
PS3 owners in North America can choose from
- Dead Nation
- Super Stardust HD
- Wipeout HD+ Fury
PSP owners can choose from
- ModNation Racers
- Pursuit Force
- Killzone Liberation
These freebies come in addition to other promised reparations, including 30 free days of PlayStation Plus service for everyone (or 60 free days for existing subscribers), a selection of “On Us” movie rentals, and 100 free items for your PlayStation Home avatar.
If you’re not afraid that plugging your PlayStation 3 into the internet will cause marauding blackguards to leap from the ether and desecrate your home, then you can claim your bounty when the time comes.
