Alienware’s Announcements – Finally Live!
Alienware conducted a live interview on Justin.TV literally two minutes ago, and released some awesome news on their new, upcoming products.
Starting off with M11XR3, they confirmed that it will launch with HDMI 1.4 output which would allow for 3D, as well as USB 3.0 for faster connectivity with peripherals. Throw into that blender the fact that it’s only 4.5 pounds and has an 8-hour battery life, and you get one delicious smoothie…
The M14X was unveiled today as well. Sitting at 14 inches and 6.5 lbs, the M14X is Alienware’s answer to people wanting the portability of the M11X with the power of the M15X. With the inclusion of a DVD drive, the M14X has a little less battery life (6+ hours) than the M11X, but it has all the meat of the M15X with an nVidia GT555M GPU. The M14X is out now.
Lastly, the M18X desktop replacement was unveiled, and holy crap is this thing a beast. Sitting at 18 inches and almost that many pounds, the M18X has the new 2011 model Intel Core i7 Sandy Bridge CPU’s with an overclocked turbo boost, and your choice of nVidia’s SLI or AMD’s Crossfire GPU setup. It sports up to 4GB GDDR5 GPU memory and up to 32 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM. The biggest feature I think, and that I am excited to test out, is the HDMI-In on it. You can plug in consoles, something I’ve been wanting on a laptop for a long, long time. The M18X will be available in May.
So there you have it, sadly there aren’t any pictures for me to share since there isn’t a press kit out yet, but I will put pics up as soon as I get some. Thanks for reading!
