Mega Man X Available on Virtual Console

It was 1994, and we were so naive. Ace of Base bloomed, and like a fragile flower in a hailstorm, it was crushed by the fickle bitch that is the recording industry.

More importantly, Mega Man X was released.

We didn’t know that it was the harbinger of terrible things to come. Like the pebble that starts the rock slide, we didn’t think anything of it. It charmed us with its brilliant next-gen re-imagining of the classic Mega Man franchise. It defied genre conventions while also redefining them.

No, we couldn’t see past Mega Man X, to the grim future of sequel rot that awaited. Now, with well over 120 games to his name, ol’ Mega Man has spread himself too thin.

Imagine, though, if you could go back to those naive days and recapture how it felt to play Mega Man X for the first time. That’s exactly what you can do, since the classic SNES platformer is now available on the Wii Virtual Console for a cool 800 points.

It’s joined by two WiiWare titles: a demo version of BIT.TRIP CORE and the critically acclaimed dark psychosexual adventure game, My Little Baby, which can be had for 600 points.
