Sony’s announces “Playstation Suite”

If you stayed up late on the East Coast to catch any live blogs on the Playstation Meeting of 2011 in Tokyo, you may have heard about Sony’s “Playstation Suite” which will bring PS content across a variety of platforms using the Android OS and Android-powered tablets. All programs will be Playstation Certified, which is Sony’s new licensing program. “How do we deliver the PlayStation experience to a larger audience?” asked Kaz Hirai. “The target platform of PlayStation Suite is Android platforms, so users have the choice of their preferred hardware.” The PlayStation Store will also be a part of this as well enabling users to download lots of old PS title as well as other items. The service will launch this calender year and will be compatible with all Android devices.
[UPDATED] The Playstation Suite will also be functional on the new PSP codenamed “NGP”.
