Dreamcast Compilation Coming to Xbox 360, PC

Now that I’m done squealing like Amy when she sees Sonic, we can get on with this exciting, though predictable announcement of a new SEGA video game collection.

The Dreamcast Collection, an Xbox 360 and PC title, includes four games from SEGA’s ill-fated white box of joy: Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, SEGA Bass Fishing and Space Channel 5: Part 2. Gamers lucky enough to own the last SEGA home console will have fond memories of these four titles.

“The Dreamcast console is still remembered as a pioneering console for online gaming,” Gary Knight, vice president of marketing at SEGA of America and SEGA Europe, said. “We are delighted to be able to offer to our large community of dedicated fans a collection such as Dreamcast Collection for them to enjoy old favorites on this generation of consoles.”

Each title features enhanced graphics, online leader boards and achievements. I’m going to buy this for the second part of the Space Channel series, and you should too; we need more collections like this in order to receive the countless other gems not re-released to death or in shiny HD (cough…Skies of Arcadia…cough).

Dreamcast fans can relive the classics on Feb. 22.
