Weekly Round-Up: Mass Effect 3
Aside from a few gifts left for friends and family (just bought some good ol’ Kodiak, Alaska brewed coffee this morning for my best gaming bud), I’m pretty much done with holiday shopping. Now, that may be true for some people, but not everyone is ready to rest and relax with a cup of holiday nog. That’s where GT comes into play. We have the greatest, most epic (well, at least the longest) shopping guide to ever tread the interwebs to help gamers find that perfect gaming gift.
Now the, let’s round-up this busy week.
The last Mortal Kombat game I enjoyed wasn’t even a fighting game; it was the action-adventure title Shaolin Monks. To be honest, unless it’s a high-def sequel to that surprising PlayStation 2 hit, I’m not interested. However, fans of ripping out spines and beating opponents to mush may be excited that Scorpion and Sub-Zero–two of the franchise’s most popular characters–will be made into collectible bookends in the kollector’s edition of the newest game.
The first Dead Space movie was pretty darn good, so I’m really excited for Dead Space Aftermath.
In RPG news we have info on the Two Worlds II pre-order bonus and the lowdown on the first bit of DLC for Arcania: Gothic IV. The add-on builds upon the original’s story, and the developers promise it to be quite lengthy. Thank goodness it’s not horse armor.
Bulletstorm looks to be the next Zone of the Enders by including a public beta for Gears of War 3. Bonus points to anyone who knows what I’m referring to in the last sentence. Granted, I’m sure nothing will steal Bulletstorm’s thunder. Speaking of Enders…where’s my HD sequel, Kojima?
DC Universe Online answers an age-old question: how cool would it be to run around in super hero underpants with other like-minded individuals online? Wait, what? That’s not the question? Whatever, I want to be like Batman! Check out our preview to see if the tights are worth it.
Kirby patches equal uber cuteness. Join Club Nintendo and get them.
A ton of new video game trailers were released this past week. Most of the time I abstain from such trailers as to not ruin anything for upcoming releases. However, I have now watched the Mass Effect 3 trailer way too many times to be considered sane. Shepard out.
Oh ya, we did review some silly RPG from some Nintendo company or something. Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, perhaps?
Er, wait a minute. Some Tron game came out too. What the hell is a Tron? These guys must be super indie or something.
That’s all this week, GT readers. Now get gaming and make sure to ready up multiple save files for Mass Effect 3!
