Game Informer to Unveil the Next Tomb Raider
Today Square-Enix announced that the new adventure in the Lara Croft saga will soon be unveiled in the January issue of Game Informer magazine. The new game won’t be a direct sequel of any kind. Instead, it will follow Lara on her first adventure not as the daring and famously shapely raider of tombs, but as an ordinary woman pushed into a situation where she must fight to survive.
“Forget everything you knew about TOMB RAIDER,” said Darrell Gallagher, Head of Studio, Crystal Dynamics. “This is an origins story that creates Lara Croft and takes her on a character defining journey like no other.”
The January issue featuring 10 pages of exclusive content is available today and will be on newsstands December 11, just in time for the Spike Video Game Awards. Coincidence? I think not.
Unfortunately that is all the information that we currently have on Tomb Raider. We will have to wait what Game Informer brings us next week. A bit of a tease, isn’t it? Well, if we can deduce something from what Darrell Gallagher has said and the image above, we can expect a Tomb Raider built from the ground up to tell a dramatic story of the woman gone Tomb Raider. And it will be a little dirty as well and might feature people getting punched in the face. A lot. It should be a fun and possibly moving piece of canon for those who are more than just fans of famous busty women.
More on this as it comes out!
