Well I can admit when I’m wrong. BioShock Infinite was announced by Irrational Games late last night. Set in 1912, the game takes place in the vast floating city of Columbia. In the game you play as Booker DeWitt, a disgraced private detective. At the start of the game he is given a new case that, obviously from the trailer, leads him into some deep trouble.
From what the trailer reveals, we can see that there will indeed be plasmid style powers as demonstrated from an attractive black haired woman desperately trying to save the protagonist before being snatched away by a large mechanical hand. Early in the trailer we also see what looks like to me an early version of the Big Daddy, but with an obvious weak point. This new mechanical enemy has both size and strength and will no doubt be a common foe that will be feared.
But enough about that, the trailer and first screenshots lie just below. Go ahead, check them out, and speculate away. There is no exact release date at this time but gamers should expect to hit the skies of Columbia sometime in 2012.
