I haven't used the ax 720s, but I have used the AX Pros and the Turtle Beach x41s and these headsets are very comparable in performance and price. I would give the nod to the x41s for being wireless but it sounds like the ax 720s are a great alternative to those that dont want to spend the extra on the elite ones! Nice review. In my past month of using the headset the bass is ever present in the headset. granted it isn't as deep as it could be, but there is still plenty to go around. I mean, when a stealth bomber comes overhead in MW2, i have to actually turn down my headset because its too overbearing for my ears. Lastly, I used the X-1 model of the Turtle Beaches, and in my opinion their construction is a bit "flimsy" where as when i put the 720s its nice and snug and feel well built. but to each their own :P!
