In the game you play as Eric Simmons, a climber and explorer who is out to find his brother Eric who has mysteriously disappeared in the Himilayas. Frank who was hired by a man named Bennett to go and search for a treasure that may or may not have been found. The mountain has been deserted and now it is your job to find out what happened to the mountain, but more importantly your kid brother.

There are a lot of things I like about this game. It first of all adds to the survival horror selection for the WiiWii reviewsWii reviews, secondly I think there is a great blend of standard controls as well as Wii remote oriented controls.
The look of the game itself performs extremely well on the Wii. There were a few parts where ghosts were running rampant through the areas and the frame rate didn’t slow at all.

Some of the things that I dislike about the game are simply personal preference. I understand that this is a survival horror game about being on a desolate mountain, but the scenery just felt a little bare. Also, even games like resident even had backgrounds that you could not interact with when the franchise started, but it looks like it might have helped in this case.

I don’t really want to go and say that the game was boring, but when you are looking to play your typical survivor/horror, even killing zombies doesn’t get old. It was like a more serious GhostbustersGhostbusters reviewsGhostbusters reviews. Some of the weapons just didn’t feel complete, or like they were making an impact.

The gameplay was interesting. I enjoyed the way the remote and nunchuck were used to uncast/cast spells and the ice pick that you get is a little overused. Banishing ghosts time after time does take some of the fun out. There were some points though that the controls didn’t exactly align and when you are trying to take out a ghost that’s right in front of you, haste does take its toll.

The game does have its moments. The surprises are during the beginning gameplay and the rest can simply be looked at as predictable and gamingtruthfully, it was a little easy the first time around. Ahhhh, will there ever be a newer game that I can be exstatic about and can they utilize Wii motion plus for a precise next to perfect control scheme? Hmmm I can only hope.
