Fallout: New Vegas Announced, Releasing In 2010
Just when you thought there wasn’t enough Fallout love going around, Bethesda decides to drop bombs on how you perceive the Fallout Universe…
Bethesda announced today that Obsidian Entertainment, known for Knights of the Old Republic II and Neverwinter Nights II, is developing a brand-new Fallout game that’s due to release next year on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
The announcement was made at Bethesda’s event in London, and Bethesda VP Pete Hines was on hand to give a few words on the title.
“It’s not Fallout Tactics — it’s not Brotherhood Of Steel,” said Hines. “It has no impact on what [Fallout EP] Todd Howard and his guys are planning.”
While many people are a bit worried that Obsidian’s work on previous titles could reflect negatively on the newly announced Fallout game, it might be good to know that a decent amount of Obsidian’s staff are veterans of Black Isle’s original Fallout games. With that knowledge, to say that there’s nothing to be worried about would likely be an understatement.
What do you think? Are you done with the original Fallout and want in on more wasteland awesomeness? Sound off in the comments!
