Resident Evil 5 "Versus" Mode Revealed

I know rumors  of a versus mode has been swirling around but Capcom has made it official today. “Versus” is DLC scheduled for the Xbox 360 and PS3 post launch of Resident Evil 5 and will cost a little moolah.

Versus allows up to four players to match wits in online battles across two very different game types. Slayer’s Rule is a point-based game that challenges players to kill Majinis. In Survivor’s Rule, players hunt the most dangerous game, each other! Players can begin the hunt as Chris, Sheva or other secret characters, and choose from either one-on-one or two-versus-two team matches for either of the two gameplay styles.

“Versus” will cost 400 MS Points on Xbox LIVE or $3.99 on the PSN.

This really should have been included in the game from the beginning. I don’t mind DLC but these are the time it feels like companies are just trying to nickle and dime us with features that should have been in the game all along.

I agree. If an already standardized component of modern console games is missing from the release, with a planned DLC, then it should be approached from a component perspective. If the DLC is available for $4 for players who want multiplayer, then the game itself should cost $4 LESS for those who don't want it.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much rather the Zune Marketplace. The interface is multi-colored, has far more flair, and some cool functions like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see connected collections, tracks, or other users related to what you might be hearing. Clicking on one of them will center on that item, and one more set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, tunes, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” can also be fantastic fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created depending on an combinations of what all your buddies are listening to, which can be enjoyable. Individuals worried with privacy are going to be relieved to know you are able to stop the public from seeing your individual listening routines if you so choose.
