GTA IV DLC Detailed, Coming February 2009
Since April of this year, Xbox 360 gamers that bought Grand Theft Auto IV have wondered what the new DLC would be – and when it’s due to launch. Thanks to USA Today, we know quite a bit more about the situation. Since all of the patience has been built up by now, here’s what you’re looking for the most:
Grand Theft Auto IV’s DLC episode titled ‘The Lost and Damned’ will be released on Feb. 17 available exclusively through Xbox Live. Now that you know how long you have to wait, here are the reasons you should:
- The main character of the DLC is Johnny Klebitz – a member of ‘The Lost’.
- Niko only plays a ‘bit part’ in this episode.
- You get to see a different side of Liberty City.
- Mysteries and uncompleted details from the main game will be explained.
Now, the next question on gamers’ minds is likely about cost, and USA Today has you covered, once again. This time from GamePro Media features editor Dave Rudden:
Rudden hopes the episode costs $15 or less, but Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter expects a $20 price and says Rockstar could sell 2 million to 3 million downloads. “I see episodic content as a natural progression of the quality of downloadable content.”
Here’s hoping Rudden is right about price. Anything more than $15-20, and gamers’ are likely to be turned off. If this is similar to Oblivions’s expansion, ‘The Shivering Isles’, except with a GTA twist, gamers aren’t likely to be disappointed.
We’ll see soon enough, as February isn’t all that far.

Awesome, I cant wait. And by the way, The Shivering Isles is for Oblivion, nor Morrowind.
