Gears Gets Community Features

Halo 3 fans know what it’s like to play a couple matches, then head to Bungie.net and see their stats. Not too many Xbox 360 users can do that, but let’s just say that’s no longer the case.

Gears of War 2 has launched with a couple of stats that are extremely helpful in keeping the community informed: Multiplayer Stat Tracking and Photos.

The Multiplayer Stat Tracking feature allows you to do just that - track your stats online. It also gives other gamers a glimpse into your smack talk, if you’re into that sort of thing. So now, it’s only a click away to see if you really “pWn3d a whole team” online. Watch your smack talk!

In what’s to be my favorite feature, Gears of War 2 now has a Photo Mode. You can take photos during multiplayer matches if you’re a spectator from fixed camera positions, player positions, and even moving around freely in ghost camera mode.

I can’t wait to see how many chainsaw pictures show up on the Photo Page by the end of the day, haha! What do you think about the community features?

By the way, thanks to vituka for using those community features and posting the headline picture online!
