Well Sony’s trying to step things up a bit, and offering a Qore issue with beta surprises inside…  I can’t say that I’m a fan of pay-to-enter betas, but it definitely has people hyped up - I can’t deny being a bit excited about it myself…

Here are the update details:

Qore Episode 03: August, 2008 ($2.99 Issue, $24.99 Annual Subscription) - 1.34 GB

For those wondering the details of the Qore/Beta situation, those have been laid out:

• Qore Annual Subscribers will be invited to the beta under “Premiere” status and be given early access.
• Qore Ep 03 (single Episode) purchasers will be guaranteed access to the beta at a later date.
• All invitations will be made via email/voucher - the beta WILL NOT be accessed through the Qore download center.
• There will be multiple programs and methods to get access (or a chance to participate) in the Resistance 2 Online Beta. Details to follow.

With Disgaea and Tomb Raider wallpapers, Star Wars: Force Unleashed, TNA Impact!, and Dead Space trailers, as well as a Home Beta theme and Qore beta access, this is a pretty decent PlayStation Network Update.

More demos would be a bonus, but considering the fact that Qore seems pretty solid, this is pretty decent. When I decide I want to pay for Qore, I may get a bit more out of these, but overall it’s still good.
