E32008 Killzone 2 MP Trailer

Most of the details about Killzone 2 multiplayer has been kept under wraps but now info has come to the surface.

Guerrilla Games says that from the start co-op was always part of their plans but wouldn’t go into detail about that. However they did confirm that a multiplayer beta is on the way.

The multiplayer will ship with 8 maps, have the ability to rank up, support up to 32 players and customization of your character is in the game.

There will also be six different classes to choose from which are assault, scout, medic, engineer, tactician and saboteur. Each class come with a set of unique skills you can perform.

Examples of the difference between classes are that the tactician can deploy mobile spawn points and call in air-strikes. The medic can revive players and give out health to teammates.

Badges that you earn in the game let you customize your character to combining classes to get there abilities.

Playing as a team, completing objectives and racking up kills all play a part in ranking up. There are also ribbons you can earn from completing tasks like getting a certain number of headshots.

Game modes for the multiplayer are deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture-and-hold, search-and-destroy, assassination and body count. You can customize your playlist to include all the different types of play when creating your matches.

Guerrilla Games promises to share more at Leipzig’s Game Convention in August. The trailer above is for the multiplayer aspect of the game and  boy does it look good. I think I can officially say that Killzone 2 is going to be hit just have to wait until February now.
