Xbox Live Arcade Size Limit Increased

With Xbox Live Arcade games steadily getting bigger Microsoft is upping the size limit which was previously 150MB to 350MB.

David Edery, Xbox Live portfolio manager has confirmed in an interview with GamesIndustry about the new file size limit and the reasons behind it.

Yeah, it’s a steady progress. We’ve been listening to our partners, listening to our customers to try and get a feel for what’s right. We don’t want the size limit to hit the roof because we think there’s some value in promoting small pick and play experiences that don’t cost USD 20 million, it’s good for the ecosystem.

To think back an remember that the file size at one time was only 50MB. I think this should satisfy demand for now but I do think in the future when more ambitious titles come along they may have to up the limit again.
