Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe Announced (Updated)

Rumors were true about this one. Midway as announced Mortal KombatMortal Kombat reviewsMortal Kombat reviews vs. DC Universe today at Midway Gamer’s Day.

Characters confirmed so far are Sub Zero, BatmanBatman reviewsBatman reviews, Scorpion and Superman. This hasn’t been confirmed just yet but rumor has it that there will be no fatalities in this mesh up of fighters since DC doesn’t want to their characters brutalized in such a way.

Honestly I’m finding it hard to get excited about this game. It could be that I haven’t found Mortal Kombat good since Ultimate MK3Ultimate MK3 reviewsUltimate MK3 reviews or that in my opinion this crossover seems wrong.

I would be more excited if Capcom were handling this which did a wonderful job with the Marvel vs. series and I think thats the kind game DC characters should be in. Who hasn’t dreamed off Marvel vs. DC right?

Midway has plenty of time to win me over. MK vs. DC will be releasing this fall and I’m going to keep an eye on it.

  • My first thought: I'd love to see Batman's fatality!

    Then my dreams were crushed (understandably) in finding out that there won't likely be any. When you think about it that way though, weren't the fatalities half the fun of Mortal Kombat?

    Yeah, the fact that someone came up with this concept as a serious game development option is just downright funny. Very few people are going to be hyped about this, other than playing with DC characters.
