Battlefield Heroes Announced – Free Play FPS
I can’t say that I know any PC gamers worth their weight in salt that haven’t tried a Battlefield game at least once in their gaming career. The balance, gameplay, and fun factor of the series was always pretty high for me as well (even some of the bugs). After Battlefield 2142 though, most gamers wondered what would become of EA Dice, and what their next project would be. Consider that answered.
Battlefield Heroes is going to be based on a free play, ad-supported revenue model as well as having a completely different look than the previous titles. Think the art style of Pixar movies and Team Fortress 2 combined with Army Men. It looks like toy soldiers to me, and I think that’s a good thing.
I’m sure many gamers would be highly intrigued by a free FPS, but pulling this off will likely rely solely on how the ads are pulled off. Can’t wait to see it!
