Xbox LIVE Arcade Awards Announced

Have you ever thought to yourself when gaming away on an Xbox Live Arcade title: “Since there are award shows for everything else, why not Xbox Live Arcade?!” If so, you’re in luck!

Enter the Xbox Live Arcade Awards.

Considering the amount of work that goes into an XBLA title, having your game selected by gamers and gaming journalists alike would be considered quite the honor for a developer. Want to be a part of making the development studio who made the XBLA title you love get recognition for their efforts? Follow the details below:

Which of the 112 Xbox LIVE Arcade titles is your favorite? We get tons of feedback about what you like and don’t like, but we thought it’d be great to make it official.

We’re going to collect your votes for the first ever Xbox LIVE Arcade Awards. Head over to http://www.xbox.com/xblaawards, starting Tuesday (2:00 a.m. PST) through next Wednesday, January 30 (ends at 11:59 p.m. PST).

The finalists in each award category were selected by a panel of consumer and video game industry journalists, and the winners will be determined by your vote. We’ll announce the winners of the inaugural Xbox LIVE Arcade Awards – 2007 at the Game Developer Conference in February.

You can vote in the following categories:

  • Best Overall Arcade Game
  • Best Classic Game
  • Best Original Game
  • Best Family Friendly Game
  • Best Competitive Multiplayer Game
  • Best Cooperative Multiplayer Game

Other award categories include:

  • Best selling game
  • Most played game
  • Highest rated game
  • Staff choice

This isn’t the presidential election or anything, so who’d you vote for?
