Connect360 now supports DivX/Xvid
Are you big on streaming videos and music to your consoles over your home network? If you are and you’ve never heard of Connect360, it’s a preference pane for OSX created by Nullriver Software that allows you to share your iPhoto and iTunes via network to your Xbox 360.
Because of the Fall Update to Xbox Live, some users might be a bit upset that Windows users can play DivX/Xvid video and they can’t. I’m here to give those Mac owners a little peace of mind. Connect360 just got updated to version 3.2, and the supported formats list received quite the update…
Connect360 supports MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF and Apple Lossless for Music. For Photos, Connect360 supports: JPEG, RAW, GIF, PNG, BMP and TIFF. For video streaming, currently only WMV WMA, AVI (DIVX/XVID), H.264 and MPEG4 files are supported (in MP4 and MOV containers).
With this update cooling down Mac owners with Xbox 360s, those with PS3s could be a bit disappointed as Nullriver still hasn’t released any info about ConnectPS3. Not even an official name!
To whoever paying attention at Nullriver Software – we’re aching to get this software! There are Mac-loving PlayStation 3 owners everywhere that would love to get their hands on ConnectPS3!
Just throwing that out there, hoping it’ll stick…
