Portal
Portal has to be one of the coolest puzzle games I’ve ever come across, and legions of gamers across the world agree.
What’s so special about Portal? Just about every aspect of it. The premise is that you’re in a series of testing chambers, using physics and the portals to get from the beginning of the level to the end. If it sounds a bit simple, it’s because it is. It’s all the craziness that happens in between that makes it what it is.

The dry humor from the announcer combined with the pacing of the game make it something you have to play if you even remotely consider yourself a gamer. The humor may not be for everyone, but the gameplay is what takes the cake here. Using the portals feels weird at first, but once you get the idea of what they do, it’s off to the races. You’ll be running through the game in no time. Literally.
Honestly, the worst thing I can say about Portal is that it’s too short. It’s saved by the advanced levels, but even they only took me a couple hours to complete. Don’t let that take away from the game itself though, as I hold Portal to be the most integral part of The Orange Box. It combines classic fps gameplay with non-traditional weaponry, as the only “weapon” you’ll have is the “Portal Gun” itself.
Nonetheless, Portal is an amazing game and rounds out The Orange Box quite nicely.
